RARE HISTORIC CIVIL WAR 2ND MASS CAVALRY GUIDON, CO “K”.

Regulation Civil War 35-star cavalry guidon, 27” on hoist and 41” on fly, maker marked by “AW Pollard & Co” of Boston who was contracted for many other Massachusetts flags.

35 stars became official July 4, 1863 and were used till the end of the war.

Company “K” of the 2nd Massachusetts Cav was made up mostly of Boston-area men and left for Baltimore Maryland February 12, 1863 and proceeded to Fort Monroe thence to Gloucester Point opposite Yorktown Virginia.

This is a rare survivor of the Civil War. Archivally framed with conservation report.
