Spectacular Russian Or Eastern European Royal Saber

This saber is the epitome of the swordsmith’s art. The blade is exemplary Damascus steel. The hilt has a sculptural quality rarely seen in arms production. The sword’s down turned guard features a crowned royal crest. 2 Lions are featured in the shield standing on a crown & dueling w/ swords. Above this is perched a crown of a Russian count w/ 9 ball top. A battle helm is above the crown. 2 Bear heads surmount the crown & helm w/ their front legs encircling the entire crest.

MFG: 18th Century. Likely Russian or Hungarian. Damascus blade likely made by an Indian master.
