Bbl. 26″ oct. to rnd. of Special Smokeless Powder Steel w/ full length matted top. 2 Line address, last patent date is August 1, 1883. King triple bead revolving front sight & elevator adj. white lined O ring V notch rear sight. Marbles combination tang sight. Half length takedown magazine. Case colored takedown action, top of receiver is marked “MARLIN SAFETY”.
Factory engraving has coverage similar to the 5-4 pattern featuring vignette w/ running deer on right & cow & bull moose on left. Scenes are bordered by straight & wavy line borders w/ panels of oak leaf engraving w/ dotted backgrounds. Engraving borders & scroll highlights continue to upper & lower receiver surfaces, lever, hammer, top tang, bbl. extension, forearm cap & breech sections of bbl. Nickel finished crescent buttplate has complimentary engraving highlights & straight line border. S curved pistol grip stock of fancy black walnut w/ elaborate segmented hand checkering. Primary checkering on wrist has scalloped bottom w/ uncheckered center oval. Ear of stock & comb areas have added panels of finer borderless checkering. Forearm of fancy walnut has complimenting wraparound checkering w/ uncheckered oval at bottom & acorn finial at front w/ added panels of finer checkering at action.
The Model 1893 was mfg. from 1893-1936 & available in numerous styles w/ various features.
