This button was produced by Scovill just prior to the Civil War for the Texas State Militia. They were subsequently utilized by Confederate forces from Texas. Albert # TX-17-A-TYPE. Face depicts a central Lone Star surrounded by the word, “TEXAS”. The reverse is marked, “EXTRA *** RICH *** “. Full straight shank w/ remains of cloth attached.
