A fine example of a circa 1836-1846, Republic of Texas Light Artillery coat button.

Albert # TX-11-A. Buttons of this type were used by the Republic of Texas military & also found their way into service w/ Confederate troops from the State of Texas 15 years later. Face depicts the Lone Star of Texas w/ the letters, “LA” superimposed on the star. Below the star are crossed cannons & the word, “TEXAS”. The reverse is marked, “SCOVILLS . WATERBURY . “.
