VERY RARE EMBOSSED “CS” CONFEDERATE ARSENAL MADE CAP BOX

Cap boxes were made by the many thousands for the Civil War. Confederate examples are scarce & marked ones are rare. The most desirable are those marked “CS”. There are a couple variations made at different arsenals, & the only embossed “CS” also marked by the arsenal known are Danville, VA arsenal. This is wonderful survivor w/ classic Confederate characteristics of single belt loop & turned wood finial for closure. The “CS” in 1.2” oval is crisp, often worn & not discernible.
