LOVELY GIOVANELLI ENGRAVED PERAZZI MX28 SCO STRAIGHT GRIP GAME GUN WITH CASE

This superb little gun has 26″ monobloc barrels with IC & Full fixed chokes, narrow matted ventilated rib and solid side ribs. Maker’s name and address are on left ejector housing and importer, “Perazzi USA” are on right. Barrel flats are stamped with 1998 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Coin finished, low profile, small size O/U action is fitted with non-removable blued trigger and firing group holding gold plated single selective trigger. Action is engraved in usual SCO style with a background of small scroll which has acanthus and floral highlights. This fine work surrounds exceptional bullino game scenes with a group of chucker partridge taking wing on left side and with two pointers pointing and honoring a flushing partridge on right. Bottom of action portrays a pointer retrieving a partridge.

Signature “Bottega C. Giovanelli inc. E. Fatti” (Cesare Giovanelli is a very highly regarded Italian engraver of the “Golden Age” and founder of a renowned engraving school. Info on E. Fatti (or is it Ratti) can not be found with a brief internet search). Straight grip buttstock made of a very fine piece of well marbled and finely figured European walnut measures 14-1/2″ over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching one piece field forend has Deeley release.

MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 2″. DAC: 1-7/16″. CAST: slightly off. LOP: 14-1/2″. WEIGHT: 5 lb. 13 oz.

UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a red ABS tan leather trimmed Perazzi marked case lined in blue Perazzi cloth. Case contains: paperwork and invoice in red folder, stock removal tool, tube of Perazzi lubricant and plastic bottle with spare strikers and springs. CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Appears almost unfired with only a few handling and assembly marks on all surfaces. Mechanically crisp. A rare dynamic little gun.
