RARE & FINE ENGLISH & HUBERS #2 PHILADELPHIA BOWIE KNIFE – ONE OF THE FINER EXAMPLES KNOWN

02-19961

15″ overall
10 1/8″ clip point blade

Blade stamped “J. ENGLISH / & HUBERS” on one ricasso, the other “SHEFFIELD WORKS” in an arc over “2” denoted size. This is the largest English & Hubers, there is no “1”. Classic 1830s manufactured bowie, coffin shaped studded ivory grip, 3 1/2″ steel Crossguard with ribbed round finials, complete with original German silver mounted tooled leather scabbard with animal head frog button. This iconic pattern has always been prized by knife collectors, most had rosewood grips with brass mountings, ivory is rare, and this is among the finest or few survivors.

UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copy of manufacturer’s history from Norm Flayderman’s iconic text “THE BOWIE KNIFE”.

STATUS: ANTIQUE
