HENRY 1860 REPEATING LEVER ACTION RIFLE

Bbl. 24 1/4″ octagon with integral 15 round magazine tube. Bbl. shroud rotates for loading. German silver blade front sight with added brass V notch rear sight in dovetail, receiver dovetail is open. Brass frame with lever latch. Lower tang is stamped “W”. Walnut stock with early style rounded heel brass buttplate having inletted sling swivel on left side. Left inside of lower tang & inside toe of buttplate along with top tang channel of stock are stamped with matching serial number “2170”. Stock and buttplate screws are also stamped with matching numbers. Approximately 14,000 Henry rifles were manufactured 1860-66. The Henry rifle was considered revolutionary during the Civil War.
