SPECIAL ORDER S&W TRIPLE LOCK TARGET REVOLVER IN HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION

23-5440
Cal. 44 S&W
S# 5407

According to factory letter this revolver was shipped to the Packard Electric Co. (parent company of Packard Motor Cars) on January 20, 1911 with 6-1/2″ barrel, blue finish and checkered walnut grips. Revolver was a special order but details of order are not readable on invoice. This pistol does have target sights, checkered trigger and checkered grip straps. Grips are checkered walnut with gold S&W medallions. Revolver is marked with S&W address on top of barrel and caliber on left side. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter. CONDITION: exceptionally fine, retaining about 95% original bright blue with some light marks overall. Silvering can be found around muzzle and sharp edges. There is some minor flaking on rear portion of sideplate and a small (1/4″) area of roughness on left side frame above grips. The same area, rear of frame shows flaking. Drag marks are evident on cylinder. Case hardening is strong (over 70%) on trigger and hammer. Grips are good, showing light wear and some scratches. Bore is bright, sharp and shiny. Mechanically fine. This is a lovely triple lock.
