Bbl. 10.5″. A US Property M1A1 Model of the infamous Thompson MSG, “the gun that made the 20’s roar”. Classic hard wood furniture including horizontal forend. Shoulder stock has metal butt plate w/ trap door containing cylindrical oiler. Matte parkerized finish on all exposed metal surfaces. Above the horizontal handguard lies a smooth tapered bbl. which terminates at the familiar front blade sight. Stamped sling swivels front & rear w/ tan canvas sling. The simple yet effective rear sight combines a fixed peep w/ a notch in its protected environment for fast target acquisition. Left side has pin style rocker & selector levers. Selector marked “FULL / AUTO” on 2 lines & “SAFE”. Right side smooth cocking handle. The M1A1 utilizes the heavily produced 20 rd. & 30 rd. stick mag. Receiver markings are as follows: (Left side) “THOMPSON SUB MACHINE GUN – CALIBER 45 M1A1″ above serial number. Front portion contains the Ordnance ‘Flaming Bomb’ & Inspectors marks “GEG” & “FJA” indicating that it was inspected by George E. Goll, Auto-Ordnance’s chief inspector & Frank J. Atwood Lt. Col. (Top) familiar Thompson trademark bullet logo in front of rear sight & “US / PROPERTY” behind rear sight ; (Right side) “AUTO – ORDNANCE CORPORATION – BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, U.S.A.”. Stock marked S.A.A. on left w/ “P” in square on bottom, both denoting San Antonio Arsenal. Trigger group number does not match receiver serial number which is not uncommon, due to military rebuilds & repairs. MAGS: 11 steel 30 rd. & 5 20 rd. stick Mags.
