GOOD QUALITY BELGIAN SIDELOCK DOUBLE RIFLE WITH ENGRAVING BY R. CAPECE WITH SCOPE

This well made good handling rifle has 24″ chopper lump barrels fitted with quarter rib and front ramp. Rib holds three folding leaf express rear sight and claw scope bases. Front ramp has gold bead. Tops of barrels are engraved with importer “Ketsenes” of Santa Barbara CA and maker “P. CONSTANTINE III BELGIUM”. Barrel flats and bottoms of barrels are stamped with S# and 1985 Belgian nitro proofs. Coin finished sidelock action features non-automatic safety on long top tang that extends over comb, hidden Purdey type third fastener, bushed strikers, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with full coverage small scroll which surrounds oval scene of mountain goat on bottom of action. Lockplates are engraved with other western scenes showing a trio of antelope running across open plain with prairie dogs in foreground. Right side shows four big horn sheep in high mountains. Engraver’s signature “R. Capece” is on trigger plate. Trigger guard with scroll on bow has S# on tang that extends to scroll engraved steel grip with trap. Very nicely fiddle type figured European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 15-1/8″ over checkered wood butt and features point pattern grip checkering and sling eye. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Rifle is fitted with Leupold Vari X scope with duplex reticle in claw rings.
