MERKEL 203 E SL DOUBLE SHOTGUN WITH EXTRA RIFLE/SHOTGUN BARRELS WITH SCOPE AND CASE

The original 28-3/8″ demi-block O/U shotgun barrels fitted with flat matted ventilated rib are marked with maker’s name and address on left ejector housing and retailer (Stampfli Luzern) on right. Bottom barrel is stamped with May 1960 German nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Newer O/U shotgun barrels with matted solid rib cut-away forming quarter rib and front sight ramp are fitted with flip-up rear and silver bead front sights along claw scope bases. Bottom barrel is stamped with 1963 Ferlach proofs and later (1965 Ferlach proofs for re-chambering to 7x65R). These barrels are marked “F. STAMPFLI” “WAFFEN” “LUZERN” on left ejector housing. Merkel 203 sidelock action features double Kirsten locking system without under bolts and detachable sidelocks with H&H type lever on right side. Safety is non-automatic and double triggers have set front trigger. Action is engraved with near full coverage well cut large shaded scroll which is typical for Merkel sidelock guns. Maker’s name and address along with blacksmith logo are on bottom of action. Scroll engraved top lever and trigger guard are blued. White line capped pistol grip buttstock of nicely fiddle figured and well veined European walnut measures 14-1/4″ over checkered plastic buttplate and features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering and a sling loop that matches that on the bottoms of both barrel sets. Three piece ejector forend with Deeley release services both barrel sets. Combination barrels are fitted with Hensoldt 2-4x Diatal-D rail scope with three post reticle fitted with claw mounts (rear with windage). MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .727. U .727. Case is lined in blue velvet and contains instructions for combination lock and key.
