ICONIC MARLIN ROCKWELL 1918 BAR CURIO MACHINE GUN
03-1895 | Cal. 30 M1 (30-06) | S# 34043. | Bbl. 24″ marked “M (Flaming Bomb) 7-18.
Blade front sight. WW1 style ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1600yds. Iconic WW1 config. M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle made by Marlin Rockwell. The M1918 BAR saw usage in the latter stages of WW1 notably during the Meuse-Argonne battle. Among the first users of the weapon was the designer’s son Val Browning serving in the 79th Infantry Divisions. Rear of bbl. has US Ordnance flaming bomb marking. Receiver top marked with US Ordnance Wheel & “BROWNING MACHINE RIFLE/- U.S. MODEL OF 1918 -/- MAN’F’D. BY MARLIN ROCKWELL/ 34043/-PATENT APPLIED FOR-“. Right side of receiver has British “GP” proof above ejection port. Left side of receiver has “F, A, S” selector markings. Metal has dull arsenal style reblue finish. Walnut stock set with checkered forend & bottom mounted sling swivels. Forend is a bit loose. MAGS: 7-20 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: reprinted manual, canvas sling, bandolier & 1967 dated BAR tan carrying case. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT CURIO & RELIC MACHINE GUN REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE.
