FACTORY ENGRAVED NEW HAVEN ARMS VOLCANIC CARBINE

Manufactured in 1857-1860 to shoot self-contained “rocket ball” ammunition, about 1000 carbines in 3 lengths made, standard configuration 16.5” octagonal barrel, integral spring loaded full length loading tube, brass crescent shaped buttplate, silver plated engraved brass frame and butt plate, varnished checked burl walnut butt stock.
