CUSTOM ENGRAVED LARGE FRAME NO. 2 VOLCANIC ARMS LEVER ACTION PISTOL WITH HOLSTER
01-26631 | Cal. 41. | S# 686.
Pistol is in standard configuration with blued 6″ octagonal barrel, integral spring loaded magazine, fixed notch rear sight, pinched post front sight, engraved brass frame, varnished walnut grips. Made to shoot self-contained “rocket ball” cartridges with powder & primer contained in conical ball. Manufactured between 1855-1857 after formation of Volcanic Arms Company from Smith & Wesson after they sold their interests to investors including Oliver Winchester. Barrel markings: “THE VOLCANIC ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN CONN / PATENT FEB 14 1854” on top flat. Pistol accompanied by brown leather military style flap holster which fits well. STATUS: ANTIQUE.
