Joe Rundell

Joseph “Joe” Rundell (1940-2025)

Joe was born April 13, 1940 in Owosso, the son of Isaac Joseph & Buelah (Palmer) Rundell. Joe went on to graduate from Bentley High School in 1959 and further attended Mott Community College with a focus on skill trades.

Joe enjoyed building Flintlock Muzzleloaders lock, stock & barrel in the 1960’s and always enjoyed the Lapeer Firelocks Muzzleloader Club Gun Show in Lapeer, MI. He was very proud to represent the 13^th Pennsylvania Regiment as their elected Commander which performed battle reenactments in the 70’s & 80’s.

Joe was a world class Firearms Engraver and a member of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America. As a testament to his skill, Joe earned the centerfold in the publishing “American Engraver: The 21^st Century” by C. Roger Bleile in 2010. As a Master Mason, like his father, he was Worshipful Master of the Vienna Township Masonic Lodge and earned the love, respect, trust and loyalty from those who surrounded him.

As a craftsman & artist, Joe was head of the art department at the Chevy V8 engine plant in Flint, MI and as such, Joe designed their commemorative coin to celebrate the 100^th Anniversary of GM in the early 1990’s. Joe was also the Contracted Sculptor for the Car Club “Back to the Brocks” and created several statues of GM Pioneers, which many can be seen on the flat lot and Bishop Airport in Flint.
