British crown “BNP” export mark at bottom of barrel. Bbl. 18″. Barrel marked behind front sight “INLAND MFG. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 1-44”. Milled adjustable aperture rear sight graduated to 300 yards. Blade front sight with protective ears. Sight base is marked “N”. Correct wide barrel band with wire swivel. Barrel band bears only “II” marking. Straight cut slide marked “IO”. Flat cut bolt is marked “IO”. Inland marking on milled trigger guard appears extremely faint even under magnification. Push button safety. Magazine catch is marked “ET”. Straight cut hammer is marked “II”. Walnut stock set. Two rivet handguard marked “IO”. Stock relief on left side is correctly cut. Low wood forend is unmarked. Pistol grip has “crossed canons” on bottom right side. Encircled “P” proof at the front and is marked at the end “RI” as well as “3”. Correct folding stock with leather cheek pad secured by three rivets. Oiler is present. Cast buttplate has correct “B257614”. Period green web sling. MAGS: one detachable 15 round GI marked on back “I.I.”. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: green canvas US-marked carbine carrying case dated 1944. STATUS: CURIO.
