FINE, DEC. 1918 COLT U.S. M1911 “BLACK ARMY” SEMI AUTO PISTOL
26-1610 | Cal. 45 ACP. | S# 545739.
Mfg. Dec. 1918 during the Armistice of WWI. The “Black Army” term came from the dark brushed blued finish applied on the frame & slide. Per “U.S. Pistols & Revolvers 1909-1945” by J.C. Harrison, this pistol appears to have all correct era parts including Colt Type 5 barrel & dbl. diamond checkered walnut grips. MAGS: 1 two ton 7 rd.; shows oxidation & light pitting. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Western Mfg. co. holster with thong in good condition showing mildew, verdigris & wear. STATUS: CURIO.
