VERY FINE, EXTREMELY RARE (1 OF 50) NRA MARKED COLT U.S. M1911 SEMI AUTO PISTOL

This pistol was originally shipped to Springfield Armory July 1915. Per Edward Meadows book “Beginning in 1915, a number of Model 1911 pistols were made available to N.R.A. members and affiliates. The examples examined to date all fall within the range of serial numbers from 122279 to 164124. Per ” U.S. Pistols & Revolvers 1909-1945″ by J.C. Harrison, this pistol appears to have all correct era parts including 5″ Type 4 Colt barrel & dbl. diamond walnut grips. MAGS: 1 two tone 7 rd. in fair condition showing large areas of pitting & patina. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. STATUS: CURIO.
