2ND YEAR PRODUCTION 4 DIGIT WINCHESTER 1894 DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE

This early 1894 deluxe rifle is fitted with a 26″ nickel steel octagon bbl. with dovetailed Winchester express front sight & flat-top elevator adjustable rear sporting sight. The top flat is marked with the “MANUFACTURED BY THE / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.” bbl. address and “30 W.C.F.” caliber marking. The bbl. is marked with the “NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER” on the left flat. The pistol grip frame is marked with the early “MODEL 1894 / -WINCHESTER- / PAT. AUG. 21. 1894” upper tang roll stamp and has a combination tang peep sight. The lower tang is marked with the “9549” assembly number & “XXX” assembly marking. It has an early hammer with decorative border knurling. The nicely figured XXX walnut stock is checkered in style H checkering with a black ebony wedge in the uncapped pistol grip and it is terminated with a smooth crescent steel butt plate.
