Bbl. 33 1/2″ rnd. marked “SHARPS RIFLE / MANUFG. CO. / HARTFORD CONN.”. Covered post front sight, folding leaf rear sight & vernier tang sight that is numbered to the rifle. Case colored action w/ Lawrence primer feed mechanism on lock. Lock is marked “SHARPS / PATENT / 1852”. Dbl. set triggers. Pewter tipped forearm, straight grip walnut stock w/ case colored buttplate & patchbox. Approx. 600 rnd. bbl. sporting rifles were mfg. 1854-1859. PROVENANCE: formerly from the Estate Collection of Kenneth Horn (Grandson of JC Higgins). STATUS: ANTIQUE.
