Bbl. 6″ rnd. of heavy weight. Pinned blade front sight has broken bead, adj. U-notch rear sight. 6-shot fluted cyl. 75% coverage of vine type foliate scroll engraving with punch dot backgrounds. Finely checkered trigger. Original finish of this revolver was blue with case colored hammer and trigger having checkered walnut extension grips. Current configuration with silver finish and pearl grips is detailed in the factory letter provided with this fine revolver. 2-piece pearl extension grips left panel has relief carved bull elk bust surrounded by foliate highlights. This model was introduced in 1911 at the request of Mr. Phil Bekeart, a San Francisco gun dealer, is based on a 32 Hand Ejector frame. Factory records indicate that he received 292 of the 1,000 ordered units. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Smith & Wesson factory letter stating: “We have researched your Smith & Wesson .22/32 Heavy Frame Target, six shot, caliber .22 Long Rifle, in company records. They indicate that your handgun, with serial number 360626 was shipped from our Stockbridge Street factory on June 6, 1922. It was delivered to the Dinkins-Davidson Hardware Company, Atlanta, Georgia”. Letter further states: “It was a single unit order. There is a large amount of correspondence between a Mr. W.T. Moyers, Attorney at Law, Atlanta Georgia, and Smith & Wesson discussing your revolver. Your revolver was engraved by Smith & Wesson’s Leon Goodyear and is in the exact configuration it is currently in, except for the silver plating and pearl grips. Mr. Moyers must have had it plated after it was returned to him by Smith & Wesson. He did acquire pearl stocks later.”. CURIO GUN
