RARE PERSIAN CONTRACT WALTHER PP SEMI-AUTO PISTOL.

(1938-1939) as part of a 2,000 unit contract for Persian (Iran) military and police; police marked and often given to captains or detectives. Only Persian contract Walthers have factory slide markings on right side (rather than normal left side) allowing room for Persian crest on left side along with Farsi identifying marks. “1317” to left of crest indicates year adopted (1938) by Iranian Solar Hijri calendar. To right of crest is marking indicating for Police use. Inside of slide is scratch marked “777” along with Farsi proof mark at top between port and muzzle; translates to “f” or “fe”. This proof is also on the left side of the frame about mid point of chamber area and on the top lug of trigger guard; also on 1 magazine. No import marks nor Walther crown N proofs. Left side of frame between trigger and grip has “9777” in Farsi; Walther serial number properly on opposite side. Serrated European style bottom magazine latch at base of backstrap; no provision for lanyard. Black checkered Walther banner grips. Fire blued grip screw and 60 degree safety lever. MAGS: 2 very good original 7 rd. specific to bottom latch models as there is no normal latch cut out on body. Bottoms of left sides have Walther banner and “Cal. 9m/m”. One is spine numbered 171626P and the other only has the Farsi “f” proof (previously mentioned) at base of spine. CURIO GUN
