VERY FINE MASTER SIGNED MERKEL 280EL 28 GA. BOXLOCK EJECTOR DOUBLE TRIGGER GAME GUN WITH CASE

The 27-7/8″ shoelump barrels are fitted with matted game rib with model and gauge markings on right barrel. Merkel info on left. Rear of rib is engraved “No. 38 of 100”. Barrel flats are stamped with June 2000 German nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Special small size coin finished ogee back blitz action features automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, bushed strikers, and double triggers. Action is engraved with scroll and geometric borders surrounding well detailed game scenes on sides with a pair of pheasant on left and three partridge on right. Master signature “SH” (Silke Hanke) are found at bottom center of pheasant scene. Lightly fiddle figured and somewhat marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 13-5/16″ over Merkel buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip.
