EXTREMELY UNIQUE COLT TRANSITIONAL / DEVELOPMENTAL LIGHT MACHINE GUN PREDECESSOR TO THE M16 OWNED BY COLT EXECUTIVE JOHN KEOSAYIAN

An unusual opportunity to own a Colt Developmental machine gun, on its transitional journey, morphing into one of the numerous configurations of the iconic Black Rifle that has been serving in the United States military over 5 decades. From the collection of John Keosayian, former Executive at Colt Firearms. Keosayian was known to procure firearms from Colt during this tenure there, and these firearms were often prototypes or developmental guns that he would hand pick from inventory. This particular piece appears to be a developmental version of the Colt Light Machine Gun. The mag-well is sterile, aside from the single line including the serial number “XM 20982” on the left side. Other receiver markings include “COLT’S PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. / U.S.A.” above the safety / selector on the left side. The fire control markings are: “SAFE – SEMI – AUTO”. Barrel is terminated w/ A2 flash hider w/ an OD of 0.73″ & marked: “CMP 5.56 NATO 1/7”. Protected post front sight / gas block / bayonet lug marked “C” on right side where sight post is located. Triangular, beavertail handguards w/ metal heat shields, retained w/ tapered delta ring. Carry handle upper receiver w/ teardrop forward assist and no brass deflector. Upper receiver marked w/ “C” & “H” below rear sight, above charging handle. Fixed shoulder stock w/ trap door. Sling swivels front & rear. Colt. NFA registry designates manufacturer as “Colt”. Recorded type of firearm is “Machine Gun”. Recorded Model is “AR15″. Recorded barrel length is 20”. MAGS: 1 aluminum 20 rd. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. STATUS: MODERN CLASS III.
