FULLY TRANSFERABLE, PEARL MANUFACTURING UC 9MM FOLDING SUBMACHINE GUN
03-2112 | Cal. 9mm. | S# UC0076. | Bbl. 8″
An extremely unique & equally rare folding submachine gun designed by Utah Connor of Pearl Manufacturing & Tim Bixler of South Central Research Company in the early 1980s. It was heavily inspired by the Hotchkiss Universal folding submachine gun and originally released as the Model 21, more resembling a portable radio. Very few were completed prior to the manufacturing ban, through Mr. Conner had registered 76 receivers prior to May 19, 1986. Following the passing of Mr. Conner, Michael Shyne of M6 Management Corporation purchased the remaining unfinished receivers and brought them into production to finish them as the UC-9. With the focal point of the project remaining the manufacture of a ready submachine gun that could be hidden in plain sight, and portable radios no longer being marketed in the same style, the shape started to morph into a more modern design and the original radio style was modified into the current configuration. Many of us have actually seen the original design as it was used as “The Radio Gun” in the 1990 hit movie “RoboCop II”. With the newly designed UC-9 sbmachine guns, they would more resemble a portable hard drive (more common in the 1990s) and could remain on top of a desk without looking like it didn’t belong. They could also “hide” in a book case, with or without the assistance of a false book spine to blend in. It was designed to feed from an unmodified Uzi magazine. A laser sight was added to the design in a manner that would be concealed inside the gun when folded. The pistol grip / mag-well & even the trigger guard fold up into what appears to be a solid steel rectangle when folded in its concealed position. When it is deployed, the end cap, which doubles as a latch / dust cover springs free. The barreled portion folds away from the stock portion & the pistol grip drops into position, locking the gun into firing mode. It is an open bolt submachine gun, w/ a sliding safety located inside the trigger guard. All external metal components are finished in flat black. The pistol grip is a textured plastic sleeve that fits over the mag-well. The sights consist of a red LaserMax sight that sits below the muzzle when extended. This is a terrific opportunity to own a rare, fully transferable submachine gun that was actually developed after the manufacturing ban. It should not be overlooked that the serial number corresponds with the number manufactured, and may possibly be the very last UC-9 SMG even manufactured. MAGS: 1 steel 25 rd. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. STATUS: MODERN CLASS III.
