SHIVAK (SAW) 40MM M203 GRENADE LAUNCHER ON CARBINE BARRELED UPPER RECEIVER

03-2213 | Cal. 40mm. | S# 1146LF. | Bbl. 9.25″.

The iconic slide action, single shot 40 millimeter grenade launcher that has been burned into screens from both military coverage and movies, such as the famous “Scarface” scene where Tony Montana proclaims “Say hello to my little friend” before meeting his demise. The M203 was designed to replace the single shot M79 grenade launcher during our time in Vietnam. It is an “under-barrel” design that rides mounted below the M16 and allows dual firepower. This specimen was manufactured by Randy Shivak, doing business as “SAW” and is a registered destructive device. It is currently sporting a 9″ rifled barrel in the classic M203 configuration. Later models attach to a rail mount, where the classic design was to mount below the barrel, secured at the barrel nut & in the turned down barrel portion of an M4 barrel. It is mounted on a 16″ barrel on a flat top lower receiver w/ brass deflector & round forward assist. Barrel is marked “”5.56 NATO 1/9” before the A2 style flash hider. Protected post front sight. Windage & elevation adjustable dual aperture rear peep sight on the detachable carry handle. Charging handle & bolt w/ bolt carrier included. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. STATUS: MODERN CLASS III.
