THE EXPERIMENTAL COLT MUSEUM NAVY REVOLVER ALTERED FOR SHOULDER STOCK

01-28166 | Cal. 36. | S# 8063.

Once part of Colt Factory Museum, listed in Arthur Ulrich’s inventory in 1956, it was appraised as part of the museum and was one of 290 guns part of huge litigation concerning their sale/trade in 1980. Revolver in inventory is listed as “gun 210” and described as “serial number 8083 old model navy revolver, experimental slot for rear sight, also cut for stock”. There is only one external S# and that is on loading lever flat. Norm Flayderman correctly noted the serial as 8063 with same description. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copy of appropriate portions of Arthur Ulrich’s Colt Museum inventory & Norm Flayderman’s 1974 appraisal of Colt Museum listing this firearm.  PROVENANCE: Martin Lane lifetime collection. STATUS: ANTIQUE.
