RARE WINCHESTER 1894 EXTRA LIGHT WEIGHT DELUXE SHORT RIFLE
26-1411 | Cal. 30 WCF. | S# 863761. | Mfg. 1917.
This rare rifle is fitted with a 20″ round nickel steel bbl with riser mounted steel bead front sight & flat top elevator adjustable rear sporting sight. The left side of the bbl is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED AUGUST 21. 1894.”, “-NICKEL STEEL BARREL- / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER” & “30 WCF”. The matching assembly number “432” is found on the bbl takedown assembly. “M.N.S”, “VP”, & .30 WCF is found on the bbl under the 1/2 length takedown magazine tube. The pistol grip frame is marked with the upper tang marking “MODEL 1894 / -WINCHESTER- / TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.”. The lower tang has the assembly number “432” & “0” “S” assembly markings. The figured walnut pistol grip stock set is factory checkered with style H pattern and has the matching “423” assembly number inside the upper channel. The butt terminated with a hard rubber “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO” pistol grip cap and serrated shotgun buttplate. There is a sling swivel stud mounted in the toe line of the butt. STATUS: CURIO.
