ALL MATCHING GERMAN WWII STEYR “BNZ” CODE “42” DATE MP40 SUBMACHINE GUN

MP40 submachine gun mfg. by Steyr-Daimler-Puch in 1942. Left side of the receiver is marked with the S# “4542/ d” between x4 Steyr Eagle/WaA623 proofs. Top of the lower assembly is marked “MP40” above Steyr’s mfg. code “bnz.”, the 2-digit year of mfg. “42”, and the S#. Parts and components exhibit Steyr Eagle/WaA623 proofing. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Lower assembly is fitted with a 1-piece grooved mottled brown pressed resin lower housing and 2-piece grips. Standard hooded blade front sight and dovetailed 2-leaf (x1 fixed, x1 folding) square notch rear sight, graduated “100” and “200”. Ribbed pattern mag. well. Bbl. is mounted with a contemporary black enamel finished non-ferrous (aluminum or zinc) resting bar. All serialized parts are matching and include the lower assembly, folding buttstock, receiver, front sight hood, rear sight assembly, bolt, as well as the telescoping main recoil spring. Muzzle thread protector is matching via an electro-penciled “542”. MAGS: x1 blued steel 32-rd. marked with mfg. code “gqm” (Loch & Hartenberger) above an apparent Eagle/WaA145 proof, followed by a “42” date code on the rear.  PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. STATUS: CURIO CLASS III.
