FULLY TRANSFERABLE US 1917 LEWIS MACHINE GUN

Blade front sight with projective ears. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated for 30 US. Iconic WW1 era Lewis gun well regarded by machine gun enthusiasts. The Marines used the 1917 Lewis in numerous interwar conflicts & into the early part of WW2. Right side of receiver marked “LEWIS MACHINE GUN .30 U.S. GOV’T/MFG. BY SAVAGE ARMS CORP. UTICA.N.Y. U.S.A. No. 15533”. NFA registry lists mfr. as Lewis & uses US Navy number “235” as serial. Blued finish. Walnut stock & grip panels. Buttplate has several patent dates. Folding bipod on bbl. jacket that has black enamel finish & appears to be British. MAGS: 1-47 rd. British 303 pan mag.  PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. STATUS: CURIO CLASS III.
