ROBUST COGSWELL & HARRISON SXS HAMMER DOUBLE RIFLE

Mfg. 1906 nd ourchased for 42 Guieas by Major F. A. Smith. This massive rifle tips the scales at a whopping 13 lbs 10.9 oz. Bbls. 23 ½” with matted raised quarter rib having a three folding leaf rear sight and island front sight holding dove tailed bead. Underlever opening. Back action lock. Lock and action have simple border engraving. Sling swivels mounted in butt and underside of barrel. Double triggers. Left barrel marked “COGSWELL & HARRISON LTD” right barrel marked “141 NEW BOND ST & 226 STRAND LONDON.”. Checkered walnut splinter forearm with metal tip. Checkered walnut pistol grip buttstock with horn grip cap and checkered horn buttplate mounted over orange rubber recoil pad. Matching numbers on barrels & forend iron. LOP: 14 ¼”. Stock is slightly cast off. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cogswell & Harrison certificate of origin detailing this firearm. 207 rounds of Kynoch 450-400 ¾” ammunition, two snap caps & ammo belt.
