STUNNING DOCUMENTED TEXAS SHIPPED LEVEL 2 FACTORY ENGRAVED COLT SAA REVOLVER WITH ACCOMPANYNG FACTORY LETTER

Barrel 4-3/4″ with blade front sight. Manufactured 1916 with 75% coverage level 2 factory engraving. Colt’s primary engraver at the time was Cuno Helfricht though this does not appear to be of his hand. Originally nickel plated, revolver has been expertly replated in an attractive silver finish. Barrel, sides of frame & in between cylinder flutes feature floral scroll engraving over contrasting stippled & punch dot backgrounds. Scalloped engraving on recoil shield and loading gate. Scrollwork is interspersed amongst a litany of fancy, wavy line and zigzag borders ornamented with a multitude of punch dots. Two-piece pearl grips with raised relief carved steer head at left side having red eye inserts.
