Standard configuration of the most popular imported arm by the Confederacy, 1863 dated Tower lock plate, Birmingham gauge markings for 577 calibers on 39” barrel, though this gun is now smoothbore with rear sight removed. Right butt stock nicely carved “E L / C S A”. The carving appears original to the Civil War era. This is attractive Confederate relic musket of the war. PROVENANCE: David Berenson estate collection.
