Barrel is standard 24″ sporter configuration without provision for sights having production code (XV) of December 1979. About 700 units made 1969-1977 by the Remington Custom Shop with clean-up units offered until 1980. Last catalogued by Remington in 1977 at a price of $525. Gloss blued metal finish and fitted with a deluxe variation of the Model 700 ADL stock. High gloss stock finish with nice figure; its Monte Carlo raised cheekpiece area has the highest degree of figure. Attachments to stock are white line spaced to include its black plastic buttplate having skeleton appearance along with a rosewood forend tip and grip cap. Black alloy triggerguard is ADL style; also fitted with detachable sling studs. The bordered cut checkering has 2 panels in the grip area plus wrap around pattern on the forend. Oval bolt knob has a checkered panel on top and bottom; matching numbered bolt handle. Fitted with a Bausch & Lomb BalVar 8A scope in a B&L 2 piece base set with star wheel clamp ring set. Reticle is B&L’s proprietary tapered crosswire reticle in the first focal plane. Last year of production for the scope was 1973; at the time, it was the best scope available for hunting rifles (USA made). Its trigger is a target variation of the immensely popular Model 700 trigger designed by long time Remington employee, Mike Walker; very light target weight of pull. MAGS: 1 factory 5 round.
