DOCUMENTED & STRIKING COLT MODEL 1905 SEMI AUTO PISTOL, NOTED IN THE BOOK “THE COLT MODEL 1905 AUTOMATIC PISTOL” BY JOHN POTOCKI”

Per Colt letter, shipped to William Read & Son of Boston, Mass. on Aug. 26, 1911, in a 2-gun shipment; final year of production for the Colt 1905 pistol as the US Model 1911 production was starting. This pistol is pictured on page 48 of “THE COLT MODEL 1905 AUTOMATIC PISTOL” by John Potchki as this pistol was the last in a production run where the “DEC. 19 1905″ patent date was applied. Blued 5” barrel. High polish blued slide & frame with fire blued trigger, grip screws, magazine release & other small parts. Case colored spur hammer. Slide markings are unusual as the right side has over stamped “45”; attributed to re-purposed dies with the production tool-up for the US Model 1911 pistols. Frame has “VP” & “W” proofs. Hand checkered, double diamond walnut grips. MAGS: 1 blue 7 rd. having over 90% blue. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Potochki book & paperwork including Colt letter. CURIO GUN
