MP43 machine gun mfg. by J.P. Sauer in 1945. Underside of receiver is marked with Mauser’s “byf” mfg. code and Eagle/135 acceptance proof, followed by J.P. Sauer’s “ce” mfg. code above an eagle firing proof and Sauer Eagle/37 proof, indicating subcontracted mfg. by Mauser and final assembly by J.P. Sauer. Left side of the receiver is marked with the S# and 2-digit year of mfg. “7221ad/45”, as well as with the model designation “MP43”. Sauer Eagle/37 and / or “ce” code repeated on trigger housing, gas cyl. tube bracket, gas cyl. tube plug, and front sight base. “fxo” (C.G. Haenel) marked bolt carrier, with “M” and Eagle/37 proofed bolt. Cast “clc” code front sight assembly. Various subcontractor proofs are present on a variety of small parts and components. Receiver and trigger housing exhibit a phosphate finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish, as is common for late German wartime production small arms. Trigger housing is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown synthetic grips, each embossed with “gqm” mfg. code on the interior, the right panel also with “1944”. 1-piece laminated wood buttstock with “cos” socket and “jvd” mfg. coded steel trapdoor plate, trapdoor containing an original MP44 manual. All serialized parts are matching, to include the receiver, trigger housing (beneath buttstock socket), buttstock socket, bolt carrier, and rear sight leaf. Bolt is correctly matching via an electro-penciled “7221ad”. NFA registry lists “German Government/ Service Arsenal” in the mfg. block. MAGS: x1 dark phosphate finished 30-rd. mag. marked “MP44” on left and with a “fxo” C.G. Haenel mfg. code on the right above an Eagle/37 proof.  NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. STATUS: CURIO. CLASS III.
