EXCEPTIONAL CONFEDERATE DANCE BROTHERS DRAGOON

Among the most mythical and iconic of Confederate arms, The Dance Brothers made about 300 revolvers, first in East Columbia Texas in 1863, and then in at Confederate Government Armory in Anderson TX in 1864. This revolver was made in Anderson. Anderson revolvers are better finished and more refined than their earlier Columbia relatives. This revolver conforms to all the Anderson manufacture details including the incised line cut near cylinder face and the sculptured tapered ellipse shape of grips. This revolver is the second highest condition of all Dance revolvers examined before retaining much of its original finish though turned mostly to plum patina, though strong areas of blue. Of note is that there is another S# 54 made at E. Columbia. There are 3 duplicated Columbia/Anderson S#s. No one has ever held matching S#s from the two manufacturing locations, though several early Texas collectors tried.
