SCARCE & DESIRABLE JP SAUER WWII GERMAN MODEL 98K SCHUTZSTAFFEL “DEATHS HEAD” BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE.

Bbl. 23 1/2″.
This Schutzstaffel marked rifle was mfg. by JP Sauer & Sohn of Suhl & given the Deaths Head mark on the left side of the bbl. in the chamber area. Left receiver rail marked “MOD. 98”. Receiver ring marked on top w/ “147” “1939”. Receiver & bbl. have German eagle proofs on left side. Left side of bbl. has “Deaths Head”. Also, WaA 37. Right side of receiver ring has 2 WaA 77 & WaA 359. Rear sight base has 3 WaA 359 on right forward end. Rifle was not given the “Deaths Head” marking under grip. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000m. Inverted V front sight. Cleaning rod & bayonet lug are present. All milled furniture including flat type buttplate. Floorplate is not serial numbered but has “crown” property mark. Steel takedown hole. Laminated stock set w/ faint S# at bottom of buttstock.
