S# 58400.
The 5″ blued octagon barrel is engraved “Saml Colt” on top flat and has loading lever affixed to bottom. Case hardened action is engraved “COLTS PATENT” on left side. Blued cylinder with matching number is rolled with classic stagecoach scene, remnants of caliber marking are on left side of small trigger guard. Trigger guard and backstrap are silver plated. Revolver is engraved with near full coverage large open shaded scroll in the style of and most likely done by Gustave Young, noted Colt engraver. Hammer is engraved with his distinctive wolf’s head.
