FINE SOUTHERN PUSHDAGGER WITH ORIGINAL SHEATH.

02-16497

6 3/4″ Overall, 4″ dbl. edged blade, 3″ ebony grip numbered “18” w/ matching number “18” stamped in leather body of German silver mounted sheath.

This unknown maker has always been thought by most knife collectors to be New Orleans, but consignor is convinced these were made in Memphis as this particular pattern is found more often in that vicinity w/ distinctive blade w/ median ridge & hollow ground cutting edges. This may be the finest example known & has been in his collection for over 50 years.

PROVENANCE: Collection of John Montague.
