1-2) 2 Very fine examples of pre Civil War era coat sized buttons used by the Regiment of Voltigeurs & Foot Riflemen. Albert # VG-2-A. Face depicts a spread winged eagle w/ a “V” on a plain shield. The reverse of each is marked, RMDC “SCOVILLS & CO . WATERBURY . “. Full straight shanks.
3) A scarce pre Civil War, 1 piece, Topographical Engineers coat sized button. Albert # TE-3-A1. Face depicts a lg. Federal shield above the gothic letters, “T E”. The reverse is marked, “H.E.BALDWIN & CO ++ NEW-ORLEANS ++ “. Full straight shank.
4) A scarce pre Civil War Ordnance Corps coat sized button. Albert # OC-3-B1. Face depicts a flaming bomb above crossed cannons superimposed by “US”. The reverse is marked, “U . S (leaf)* ORDNANCE CORPS *(leaf) “. There also appears to be a chain encircling the shank. Full straight shank that is slightly off center.
5) A pre Civil War Ordnance Corps coat sized button w/ a scarce backmark. Albert # OC-4-A2. Face depicts a flaming bomb w/ crossed cannons below superimposed by a ringed belt that reads, “ORDNANCE CORPS”. The reverse is marked, “W.R.WILLIAMS 12 JOHN ST N.YORK.”. Full straight shank.
6) A Civil War Ordnance Corps coat sized button. Albert # OC-5-A. Face depicts a flaming bomb w/ crossed cannons below superimposed by a ringed belt that reads, “ORDNANCE CORPS”. The reverse is marked, “(flower) D. EVANS & CO.ATTLEBORO MASS (in ribbon)”. Full straight shank.
