Bbl. 10.5″

Manufactured in 1942. An original Russian PPSh-41 designed and developed in 1941. They were often referred to as the “Papasha” (meaning Daddy) due to their model letters. These were manufactured and utilized for the Russian military through the 1950s, and a primary Soviet military arm until being replaced w/ the AK-47 family. Chambered in the intermediate 7.62x25mm round & a longer barrel than the standard submachine gun, it proved to be useful at longer distances and it was extremely durable. Though it was built very rugged and proved to be a strong and reliable system on the battlefield, it was easy to duplicate and could be built by most industrial plants w/ ease.

It was an open-bolt design which aided reliability though its rapid rate of fire, over 900 rpm, led to regular overheating. It utilized what would become an iconic slotted barrel shroud and heavy wooden stock, & unique top ejection port. Sights consisted of a hooded front post and duel rear notch marked “10” & “20”. Blued finish on exposed metal surfaces aside from magazine well which retains a natural finish. It was fed from a curved 35rd stick magazine as well as a 71rd drum. Right side reciprocating charging handle. Left side sling attachment points. Wooden stock w/ metal buttplate & compartment for cleaning kit.

MAGS: 71rd drum.
