CONFEDERATE ARKANSAS BELT BUCKLE.

02-17371

87.0 x 55.6mm

The rarest of all Confederate state buckles is the oval solder filled Arkansas State seal. Few examples are known and every reference book rates these as rarity 10. This buckle was excavated about 1990 in Knoxville, TN where Confederate troops fought and camped winter 1863-1864. There are only 6 documented survivors, 2 of which are excavated.

This buckle has good collection history owned by prominent dealer/collectors: Nick Periut, Shannon Pritchard, Don Phillips, Rafael Eledge. Buckle accompanied by custom display casing mounted with plaques telling of its history.
