MARLIN MODEL 1893 FACTORY ENGRAVED DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

Case colored action with No. 1 factory engraving. Left side of receiver features a circular vignette of a whitetail buck surrounded by fancy borders & highlights of Arabesque scroll. Right side of receiver has fancy borders surrounding Arabesque scroll with a sunburst behind the loading gate. Complimenting scroll continues to the lower receiver, lever & bolsters. Breech block has a series of rolling single line spiral cuts with leaf type highlights. Matching spirals are found along upper surfaces of receiver & top tang. Top of receiver has the “Marlin Safety” trademark. Top tang marked “MODEL / 1893”. Although not signed the engraving appears to be the work of Conrad Friedrich Ulrich Jr (1844-1925). Conrad Ulrich did almost all of the Marlin engraving from 1881 to 1910. Bbl. 26″ octagon. German silver blade rocky mountain front sight with elevator adjustable sporting rear sight. Full length tubular mag. Capped rifle forearm & S curved pistol grip walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate. Forearm & stock have factory style B point pattern hand checkering.
