Fine “As Found” Minniwaukan Pipe Tomahawk, 1870-1880

18.5”overall, 9.75” spontoon head with stamped star & moon designs. John Baldwin wrote letter of authenticity in 2001 which stated this hawk was thought made by blacksmith near Milwaukee circa 1880. Several other examples are known with same form and style of decoration. The well fit haft has cut arrow decoration near the head, blackened lower half toward mouthpiece, rawhide drop with brass and glass beads.
