Bbl. 4″ with altered fluted blade sight and WITHOUT “.22 CAL.” marking; frame notched rear sight. Per noted reference (RENE) this variation made June 1972 or later yet number range is in first year (1971-1974); only 3 examples known: S#’s 91-05568, 91-06638 and 91-07000. Trigger guard was removed showing spotty finish on top of guard and bottom of cylinder frame as common result of its steel components being blued as a unit after match polishing (same for Super Blackhawks). Black alloy ejector housing with flat faced ejector rod head; drilled through base pin latch. Total of 64,420 Super Bearcats produced. Oiled walnut grips with small silver eagle medallions. Not factory safety updated. Only the 4th example of this configuration know to exist; true collector find. CONDITION: Original finish as evidenced by non blued area stated above. Top of sight blade has been filed with backward slant having traces of solder as if it once had a bead or such added to its top. Slight cleaned staining on sides of hammer and trigger. Small spot of very light oxidation to left of barrel legend and light thinning throughout on high edges. Near excellent bore and grips.
