Bbl. 38″ Over Brake. A rare rifle, as impressive in performance as it is to look at. The McMillan Brothers SSK Single Shot rifle was built by J.D. Jones, the well known wildcat cartridge designer, & chambered in his own 14.5 JDJ load. It launches a 1173 grain solid brass projectile upwards of 2700 feet per second, creating a whopping 19 Thousand foot pounds of energy. Deep bright blued finish on barrel, w/ matte finish black receiver. Barrel terminated w/ 5″ long artillery style, 3 chambered muzzle brake. Heavy composite stock w/ thick rubber Decelerator butt pad. Integral bipod mounting point for included quick detach VersaPod. Massive, spiral fluted 2-lug bolt. 6″ Weaver base above action currently sporting matte black SWFA SS 16×42 scope w/ Mil-Dot duplex reticle. No provision for open sights. Rifle weight unloaded, 42#. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Spare barrel chambered in 50 BMG, 1 set 14.5 JDJ reloading dies, 1000+ bronze bullets made by Fricke at Lehigh Defense, 65″x14″ Nielsen Sessions lockable transport case, cleaning solvent & paperwork. CONDITION: Original finish complete & consistent w/ full coverage. Barrel retains a beautiful deep blue finish. Receiver is matte finish w/ no visible signs of use. Finish on bolt has some thinning in areas of mechanical intervention which happens almost immediately. Stock has some small dings & scratches, primarily on top in the cheek area, probably from unintended contact w/ the massive bolt on occasion. Bipod moves fluidly and locks on correctly. Scope glass is clear w/ sharp reticle. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. Transfers as any Title I firearm. According to manufacturer is was never considered a Destructive Device as it was built for sporting applications only.
