NEW TESTAMENT THAT SAVED THE LIFE OF SOLDIER AT BATTLE OF SAILOR’S CREEK, APRIL 7, 1865

02-21453

4.5″ x 2.75″ leather veneer pocket testament has mangled pages and impacted 3-ring minié ball. Surgeon Cornelius Redburn notes on back cover in ink that he removed this book from breast pocket of S.G. Allen, Co. B …..2nd Div. 8th AC. What a wonderful wounded relic of the Civil War, no doubt the soldier can be researched.

PROVENANCE: from Martin Lane Historic & Western Americana Lifetime Collection.
